Hi, I’m Rebecca-Monique – an ICF accredited coach and coach supervisor – and these are my passing thoughts.
“At least three times every day, take a moment to ask yourself what is really important. Have the wisdom and the courage to build your life around your answer.” - Lee L Jampolsky
We are the architects of our lives. Believe it or not, we get to design the life we want. We are sovereign.
Convincing ourselves otherwise is either an excuse, or fear rearing its head. It helps to interrogate what we’re really afraid of.
The life we’re living today is a result of the choices we made a year ago or before that and stuck to.
We can make new choices every day. Today, right now.
Remember the time you prayed for what you now have? You’re living in an answered prayer.
If you’re not living the life you want, it’s a call to take inventory on the factors that have contributed to that. What do you need to eliminate? What needs to change? What can you do differently?
If health is important to you, build your life around fitness, nutrition, rest and recovery.
If your religious or spiritual practice is important to you, build your life around your rituals and practices.
If relationships are important to you, build your life around safe communities and nurturing meaningful connections.
If self-development is important to you, live an examined life. Be curious, knowledge-hungry, self-correcting, and open to frequent transformation.
Don’t make what you say is important, an afterthought. It only proves it’s not as important to you as you actually believe it to be.
My sequence of questions for you this week is this:
Each choice we make is a seed we plant. Based on your recent choices, what’s beginning to sprout? What life will you be harvesting in a year? Will you be nourished or famished?
Speak to you next week. Until then, be well.
